Gut-Friendly Breakfast Delight: Overnight Oats with Berries and Nuts

Did you know that your gut is home to trillions of tiny microorganisms that make up your gut microbiome? These little guys play a super important role in keeping your digestive system healthy, supporting your immune system, and even regulating your mood and brain function!

That’s why it’s so important to take good care of your gut health by eating gut-friendly foods.

One super yummy and gut-friendly recipe is Overnight Oats with Berries and Nuts! This recipe is chock-full of fiber, prebiotics, and probiotics that can support a healthy gut microbiome.

Let’s Break It Down

Whole Rolled Oats: These are a great source of soluble fiber, which helps keep your digestive system running smoothly. Plus, they’re prebiotic, meaning they feed the good bacteria in your gut.

Raw Nuts: Raw nuts, like almonds, walnuts, and pecans are packed with fiber, healthy fats, and protein, which can keep you feeling full and satisfied all morning. Plus, they’re prebiotic, too!

Plain Full Fat Greek Yogurt: This stuff is loaded with live active cultures, or probiotics, that help increase the number of good bacteria in your gut. That means better digestion, a stronger immune system, and less inflammation in your gut.

Raw Honey: This natural sweetener has antibacterial properties to help keep the bad bacteria in check, plus it’s a natural sweetener that won’t mess with your gut.

Mixed Berries: Mixed berries like blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries are a great source of prebiotics, which feed the good bacteria in your gut. Plus, they’re full of antioxidants to reduce inflammation and support overall health.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp honey
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)
